Antique 44 Henry Ammo

Circa 1880’s

An early OPENED box of circa 1880’s antique 44 Henry Ammo by the U. S. Metallic Cartridge Co. It’s a buff box with a blue top and side sealing labels. The box is marked “Cal .44 Henry Flat Rim Fire Cartridges, for Model 1866 Henry and Winchester Rifles and Colt’s Rim Fire Revolvers”.

The box contains all the original cartridges with the small “US” head stamps, and the ammo is in very good condition. The box is solid, showing split seams, top and bottom, all professionally repaired. The top label is complete, showing some age soiling and edge/corner wear. The bottom half of the side labels is about 95% intact with staining from cellophane tape, now gone.
