Hammond Bull Dog Derringer
.44 Rimfire
This Hammond Bull Dog Derringer was made by the Connecticut Arms Co., Naubuc, Conn. From 1866 to late 1880’s. One of the first large caliber .44 rimfire derringers with an estimated total quantity of 8,000 made.
Derringer Condition
It is in very good-to-fine condition showing a faded case-hardened frame and breechblock. Also, the derringer has a 4” barrel with traces of bright blue still present. The checkered ebony grips are in excellent, un-damaged, condition. In addition, the mechanics are good and the bore is near perfect, showing little or no use. All the markings are sharp and clear with serial #5480 under the grip.
A nice solid example of an early large caliber derringer.
