Henry Hickory Cleaning Rods

Two (2) Pieces

Pictured here are two (2) pieces of what appears to be early Henry Hickory Cleaning Rods. They measure exactly the same as documented Henry rods; .375” dia. Ferrels, .312” dia. hickory dowels, the two pieces together measure 13.656” long, which is exactly half the length of a 4-piece set (27.312” documented) would measure.

These wood cleaning rods were supplied with early Henry Rifles, in several variations, supplied by outside vendors. There is also an unknown number of reproduction hickory rods that exactly replicate the original rods. Both are rarely seen on the collector’s market, and both are expensive. I found these two pieces in a large grouping of Winchester cleaning rods I acquired.

I cannot validate the originality of these rods, and have them priced accordingly. Original or reproduction, buyer’s call.
