A great old Antique Colt 45 4-3/4″ with honest wear and use with a period authentic holster and belt.

Revolver Condition

This is an antique Colt .45 Single action Army revolver with a 4 ¾” barrel. A factory letter (included) confirms all the features; 45/c, 4 ¾” barrel, nickel finish, rubber stocks, shipped to Hartley & Graham, New York, June 12, 1886. The gun is in very good condition, showing many years of use and carry. It has all of its original parts, with the exception of some small screws, that look to be later replacements. Also, the gun only retains traces of the original nickel finish, with the overall surfaces cleaned to gun metal grey.

The original eagle grips show wear, but no damage, and fit perfectly. The markings are good, some showing better than others, but all present. The cylinder looks to be original to the gun and shows a “D.F.C.” inspection stamp. It was not an uncommon practice for Colt to pull parts from the government inventory to fulfill civilian orders. The mechanics are good, action locks up tight, and the bore is good – showing typical erosion from black powder use.

Included is the original very well worn “Olive” type catalog holster and a catalog cartridge belt of the same era.
